Rutgers is a big place with much to offer. To help you get acquainted with the university, the following list of resources will assist in to finding people, departments, and general information about working at Rutgers.
Working at Rutgers
- Ethics: Information about ethics at Rutgers University. Downloadable copies of the Rutgers University Code of Ethics: General Conduct; the Rutgers Plain Language Guide to Fundamental Ethics and Conflicts Rules Established by State Law, Federal Law, and University Policy; and the Review and Acknowledgement form.
- Frequently Asked Questions: Frequently asked questions (FAQs) from new employees.
- Holidays: The Schedule of University Holidays is available each year.
- Labor Agreements: Collective negotiated labor agreements for employees represented by a union.
- New Employee Welcome and Benefits Orientation: Regularly scheduled programs are held for new faculty, staff, post-docs, and TA/GAs.
People and Departments

- RU-info: RU Info provides resources, services, and information for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Rutgers Today: This online publication is your daily source for university news.
- Software Portal: The university Software Portal provides central access to free, site-licensed, and individually licensed software available to Rutgers University faculty, staff, and students. Through this site, you can download and purchase software for your personal or department's use.
- Technology Guide: The Faculty and Staff Technology Guide provides an overview of information technology resources for university employees.
Employee Services
- Discounts: Information on various discount programs and services available for Rutgers employees including cell phone discounts, reduced rates on travel programs, and retail discounts, among others.
- Faculty Handbook: A general reference guide for faculty at Rutgers.
- International Guidebook: A Guidebook for International Faculty and Scholars is available from the Center for International Faculty and Student Services.
- Insurance Programs: Information on discounted auto and home insurance for Rutgers employees.
- Identity Theft Assistance: Rutgers Identity Theft Assistance Program provides you with free, one-on-one help from a trained specialist at our partner, Identity Theft 911®.
- Off Campus Housing: Information and resources on off campus housing for the Rutgers community.
- Online Services: List of online services available to faculty and staff. You must have a valid NetID to log on to most services.
Dining on Campus
Busch Campus
Busch Dining Hall is the faculty and staff dining room on the Busch Campus. Also available is the Busch Campus Center Food Court with Gerlanda's Pizza, Café, and Deli; Masala Grill serving Indian cuisine; Szechwan Express for Chinese food; or Burger King.

College Avenue Campus
A faculty and staff dining room is located in Brower Commons on College Avenue. Directly across the street at the Rutgers Student Center is a food court with the Red Lion Café for coffee, breakfast, desserts, and snacks; Szechwan Express for Chinese food; Gerlanda's Pizza and Café; King Pita for Middle Eastern food; Subway; and Wendy's. Au Bon Pain is located outside and serves soups, sandwiches, and baked goods.
Douglass Campus
The Douglass Café in the Douglass College Center serves healthy sandwiches and is fully equipped with a deli, hot spot, salad bar, and grill for food cooked to order. Also included in the Douglass College Center is Brew Ha Ha's, a coffee shop with live entertainment.
Cook Campus
Nielson Dining Hall is the faculty and staff dining room located on the Cook Campus. In addition, in the Food Science Building is Dudley's, a deli/grill concept, and in the Cook Student Center is the Cook Market, a convenience store and café offering meals, a deli, organic foods, and more.
Livingston Campus
Tillett Dining Hall is the faculty and staff dining hall on the Livingston Campus. The Livingston Student Center is home to the Rock Café, along with Dunkin' Donuts and Sbarro, an Italian eatery.
Fine Dining
Located in one of New Brunswick's elegant early 20thcentury houses, The Rutgers Club at 199 College Avenue is a fine dining restaurant and bar serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner to the Rutgers community and visitors. Memberships, available for a nominal fee, entitle members to special privileges throughout the year. All new employees receive a complimentary six-month membership.

Knight Express
The Knight Express Program allows students and employees to use their RUconnection ID card as a debit card in lieu of cash payments and payments by check on campus. It offers convenience and provides easy money management. Users receive a detailed record of all deposits and purchases. An account balance is also displayed every time the card is used. The card is accepted on and off campus as payment at eateries, vending and laundry machines, bookstores, Rutgers Department of Transportation Services, and athletic events.
